No one could have prepared me for, or explained the deep grief that I would experience after the recent death of my mother. Being next to her hospital bed and watching as she took her last breath … the feeling of hopelessness could never never be explained.
As a Christian, I am grieving however, clinging to words from Scripture continues to be my greatest hope and comfort. Here are a few:
How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog–it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.1 There is a time to be born and a time to die.2 The LORD cares deeply when his loved ones die.3 He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.4 God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.5 Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever.6 The LORD gave me what I had, and the LORD has taken it away. Praise the name of the LORD!7
