Today’s Prayer

American Coot #3 - Mt T - 100_1107
On my recent walk through my favorite park,
I observed this American Coot. My heart immediately
overflowed with  another prayer from the Psalms:
Heavenly Father,
Today lead me beside still
waters1, guide me with Your Eye2
and set my feet on the Rock3
In Jesus’ name,
1. Psalm 23:2; 2. Psalm 32:8; 3. Psalm 40:2

Tabby 03122011100_0667One of the definitions of the word watch is: “to guard, to tend, or oversee, especially for protection or safekeeping”. This chubby tabby cat watched me cautiously on my recent early morning venture while searching for interesting photos. As his keen eyes followed me, I was reminded of Scripture which speak of the watchful eyes of my Heavenly Father ~ “I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go1 … I will advise you and watch over you2 … I will watch over your life3 … I will hold you by your hand and watch over you4.” Tabby didn’t seem to feel safe being watched because as I slowly approached, he slowly disappeared into the nearby bushes. I still thought tabby and his photo deserved spotlight, and a great example of Heavenly Fathers’ watchful Eye!
Heavenly Father, For Your keen eyes that watch over, keep me safe, and follow me wherever I go,I am truly grateful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Greatest Companion

Star of Persia NBG -6-4-13 - 101_0171

I promise to: guide you along the best pathway for your life,
advise you, and watch over you1. Be with you in trouble2;
when you go through rivers of difficulty3; go before you and make the crooked places straight4.  I will strengthen and help you5;  send angels before you6; personally go with you7. I will sustain you8.  I never sleep9, so will you stop worrying and let me give you my beloved, sleep10? I will never leave you, nor forsake you11. If you allow me, I promise to be your God forever and ever12.

Heavenly Father, I pray that as we read these words from the Holy Scriptures, we will understand how much you desire to be our constant Companion, and refuse to live each day unless in total companionship with You.
In Jesus’ name,

In The Midst Of …

100_0231 Lily of the Nile NBG 08042010
UNCERTAINTY – I the LORD do not change.1 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.2
LACK – Your Heavenly Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask.I will be your God throughout your lifetime – until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you.4
SICKNESS – Who forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.5 My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to My words … for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.6
INDECISION – We do not know what to do, but we are looking to You for help.7 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you.8
FEAR – For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.9 When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You.10
DOUBT – You must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.11 When doubts filled my mind, Your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.12
The power to face and overcome uncertainty, lack, sickness, indecision, fear, and doubt is found in words from the Holy Scriptures. Print these words. Speak them often. Memorize them. Sometimes change is immediate, and sometimes change takes time, but change will be guaranteed if we persist.
There are many more related Scriptures. These are a few of my favorites. What are some of yours?
