The Greatest Gifter

Celebrating the birth of the One who remains the Greatest Gifter: of peace, hope, unconditional love, mercy, forgiveness, and abundant life.
Happy holidays, and Merry Christmas.

Heavenly Father, may we continue to share the good news of the Great Gifter not only at Christmas, but every day of each year, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Happy Holidays?

In a recent online article entitled Holiday Depression, Dr. Richard Boyum states “We generally
think of the holidays as a joyous, happy period. The period of time between Thanksgiving and
New Year’s is a time in American culture for much celebration. People come together to eat, sing,
share gifts, and enjoy the camaraderie of each other’s presence. But there is an increasing body of knowledge that says that the holidays are a period of time that is, for many, stressful at the least and for others, downright depressing.”

This Holiday season, let us be sensitive to those around us who may be
experiencing a time or stress, loss, or depression, and may need a listening ear,
a word of encouragement, a voice of hope, a voice of support, or a voice of prayer.

Heavenly Father, help me to touch lives during this Holiday season,
as Your voice of hope, love, and encouragement, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Eyes To See

In his book The Wonders of Creation, Alfred M. Rehwinkel writes:
“next to the vital organs on which life depends, the eye is one of the
most precious gifts of the Creator to man.”
As we begin our day, we will come into contact with family, friends,
co-workers, those we are called to serve, and various others. Let us
choose to see each as the eyes of The Great Creator of sight and
vision would.
The LORD doesn’t see things the way you see them.
People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the
heart. – 1 Samuel 16:7
Heavenly Father, may we never take for granted the gift of sight You have given us. We are grateful for the privilege to see lives through Your eyes, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
